Fashion + Blogging Q&A // 500 Follower Celebration!

GUYS!!! I hit 500 followers! *Cue party poppers and DJ sirens blaring in the background.* No, but seriously, I am so incredible humbled that 500 of you [yes, YOU!] want to read my content every single day. I love you all so much, and if I could give you all a big Italian hug and kiss I would.

Lately, I have been feeling so comfortable in the blogging community. Not just because of the follower number, but because of all of you. The comments and support that you’ve shown me recently — especially on my summer anxiety post — has made me so incredibly happy. I now vow to get even more personal with my posts, and show you guys the real, un-perfectly perfect me!

In honor of me hitting 500 followers [WHAT?! Still shocked], I had you guys ask me some questions. And guess what? You came up with almost 40 questions for me! [Seriously, I love you all so much.] So I’ve decided to split it into two parts. This one if for fashion, beauty, and blogger questions, and the other one will be random fun questions.

This is going to be a long one, so stick with me. Grab a coffee or glass of wine, and let’s get started!

1. What motivates you?

Honestly, I am fueled by my love of writing and creating. Of course, you guys are incredible too. But what started this blog was a place to give my thoughts to the world, and I love to see how it’s evolve.

2. What First got you into thrifting?

My mom. Thrifting runs in the family. Then, once I got out of college and had no money, I went at it full force.

3. What’s the best thrift deal you’ve found?

Hm.. this is a tough one. I’d have to say my strapless Juicy Couture denim dress. I got it for $5 and was told I can sell it for at least $80 online. Not before I show you guys though!

4. Favorite brand of makeup?

This is like asking me to pick a favorite child haha. But lately, I’ve been loving Tarte. Especially with all their skincare releases.

5. Why do you love thrifting?

If you were to ask me two years ago, I would say because it saves me money. But now I’ve found that I generally just love the idea of saving an item that someone wanted to throw away.

6. Do you have a budget when you go thrifting?

Normally, no. I’m lucky enough to have a pretty flexible budget. I typically try to stay under $20 every time I go though.

7. What is your favorite piece of clothing? where’s it from?

My all-time favorite item is the dress that I got on vacation in Italy. My grandma and I went and she bought it for me from a little boutique. It’s just a purple and blue cotton dress, but it holds so many memories for me.

8. If you could have any job what would it be?

I absolutely love being a Contributing Editor for Bustle. But if I could do absolutely anything, it would be beauty editor of a print magazine. Maybe Teen Vogue or Real Simple.

9. One makeup item that you can’t live without?

MOISTURIZER! If that counts, because it’s my life saver. Actual makeup I’d probably say mascara.

10. Would you rather go months without new beauty item or new clothing?

Gah! So hard. Okay, I would probably pick going without makeup. Because I already have too much haha.

11. What’s your dream item to find at a thirft store?

OVERALLS! I have been on the hunt for a pair since I started thrifting and they have yet to pop up.

12. Where would you like your blog to be 1-2 years from now?

I want to still be just as excited to post every single day as I am right now. And also being self-hosted and making some money from it wouldn’t hurt either.

13. What’s your all-time favorite thrift find?

This is a tough one too! I would say that it’s a tie between the black and white striped dress in my Cleveland post and the tee that says “week-ends.”

14. If you could only shop at one store, which one would you pick?

If I had an unlimited budget: Zara. In my normal life: Goodwill.

15. Who is your fashion icon?

I reallyreallyreally love The Olsen Twins. They are so quirky and cool and unapologetically themselves. In the perfect world we would all be triplets haha. Can you tell that I’m obsessed?

16. What is your favorite fashion trend?

This is a really great question. Right now, I’d say platform shoes. Maybe that’s just because I’m a short girl, but I’ve been obsessed with everything from platform sandals and heels to sneakers.

17. Street Style or red carpet?

Street style all the way. I think it gives the person a chance to really show off their personality.

18. Favorite & least favorite thing about blogging?

My all-time favorite thing is reading all of your lovely comments. I love to interact with you guys and get your feedback. My least favorite thing… I don’t really have one. But that would be cheating, so I’ll say going through my spam comments.

That was so much fun! I have to admit, you guys really stumped me with some of these questions. I can’t thank you guys enough for all the love and support. If you’ve read all the way through this you deserve another big Italian hug and kiss!

xx.
