A Day At Baltimore’s Inner Harbor // Thrifted Denim Romper

There are places that you go that change you. You go there and leave with the same mass, travel buddies, and belonging, but you come home changed. More you. Less heavy. That’s what my uncle’s house is for me.

If you’re been following along, you know that I’ve been in Baltimore with my family for the past week. I want to apologize for being late to comment back to everyone and not keeping up with all of your blogs. It was really hard being away from everyone, but powering down the laptop for a few days did feel nice. Don’t worry, I’m back and I come with updates!

I absolutely love visiting my uncle. I look forward to the trip to see him every year, and this year was better than ever. My boyfriend Chad came with us, so we got to play tourist all over again. One of those days was spent at the Inner Harbor. And when I say a whole day, I mean it.

Before I give an update about the day, I have to share my outfit with you guys. Because I knew it would be a long, hot day with a lot of walking, I chose to go simple with my look. I’ve been obsessed with rompers lately. Mainly because a] you don’t have to match a top and bottom and b] it’s super comfortable. There’s no better vacation go-to.

As you probably already guessed, my denim romper was thrifted. I got it back home before I left for $5. While that might be a little pricey for thrifting, it was from Old Navy with the tags still on. It was the perfect no-fuss, walking around town outfit.

The family started our day at the Baltimore National Aquarium. I’ve been there before, but it was Chad’s first time. It’s so much fun to go with my cousin, because — even though he’s six — he can tell you everything you need to know about the animals there. It’s incredible.

My favorite part, as you can probably tell from the video, was the jellyfish. They had two different exhibits, and I was quite literally entranced by them. My uncle even got us a photo from the aquarium, and I absolutely love it. I know it small, but it meant a lot to me. It’s souvenirs like this that I can keep forever.

We spent the majority of the day walking around the harbor. There were some more well-know shops there on to of some little boutiques and food spots. But the most fun part was actually walking around the water. The spot had everything form old war ships to little paddle boats. Because it was a weekend, it was pretty packed — despite the heat.

All of the things to do were exciting, but the most fun was just holding hands with Chad and walking around. They also had some really fun performances going on. My favorite was the man who made a drum set out of buckets and a grocery cart. He was too good! Makes me think I really should start blogging. What do you think?

Then came the food. Of my goodness, the food. I don’t talk about meals much on the blog, but this one deserved a shout out. Chad and I went to eat together, while the rest of the family went home for a bit. We ate right outside on the harbor with live music and a messy meal.

We got the big bucket of seafood to share, and it was definitely a different experience. We cracked the crabs with our bare hands. We just threw all the parts on the table that had a big paper cloth on it, which was so much different than our normal date nights. It made it all the more fun.

This was a day that I’ll never forget. This is just the beginning of fun vacation posts too! There’s so much that I want to share with you guys, because this trip was amazing. Here’s a hint — it involves a whole lot of thrifting and family time.

What do you guys this of my denim romper? Are you into the trend or does it bug you? I want to hear what your summer uniforms are in the comment section!

xx.

Looks like it was the beginning of such a fun trip!! I love that romper! I agree that with a romper you don’t have to think about matching tops and bottoms 😂 It’s a lot easier, and great for summer weather!

I love the denim romper! I personally don’t look too good in them though because I’m really short and I have a long torso haha; you look cute though! I’m glad you enjoyed your time at the inner harbor. I live in Baltimore, just 3 blocks from the harbor so I’m walking around there a lot. I love the aquarium, the historic ships, the restaurants, and the live entertainment. Have you ever been to Fells Point or Federal Hill in Baltimore? 🙂

I LOVE aquariums! And basically anything to do with the ocean (if you couldn’t tell…;) and this gave me all the feels reading it! I have only been to Baltimore briefly but your posts make me want to go back!
LOVE LOVE LOVE your romper! It looks amazing on you! But girl you NEED to tell me your secret with rompers! I have the hardest time finding ones that fit and look good! It always mystifies me because as a vertically challenged woman, I would have thought they would be too long on me. ❤

You should definitely go back! It’s actually the National Aquarium, so there’s five stories of fun! I try to find rompers with a higher waistline, since I need the cutoff around the waist to not look to short! xx.

I definitely need too! Oh my gosh that sounds amazing! Ooo that is a great tip! Thank you! I found two rompers but they are more nighttime rompers then fit for day time. I have seriously looked high and low, I actually have more luck with jumpsuits ironically lol. ❤

I am always here for rompers, they are so cute and I love that they come in so many different prints. It’s easy to keep it casual or to dress it up, I love the jean romper you have on. For me, I usually wear jean shorts and a v-neck or a tanktop 🙂 It’s my go to for the summer heat.

I’ve tried rompers and a lot of them don’t suit my body type lol. I’m just about ready to swear them off.
