Unicorn Snot Lip Gloss // Review & Swatches

The unicorn trend is alive and well. While I don’t normally get excited about these fads, I can’t help but be drawn to glittery and sparkly products, so here we are. You won’t find me wearing a horn-headband or drinking one of those overly-sugary, too-bright-to-be-consumed Starbucks drinks, but you will find Unicorn Snot Lip Gloss in my purse,

I first came across the brand FCTRY a year ago from their Unicorn Snot Body Glitter. The name is just too good! The goo is colorful, glittery, and exactly what I imagine a Unicorn sneeze would project all over you. Gross, but true, So when I saw the lip gloss, I knew that I had to try it out.

The brand was gracious enough to send me samples of all five shades to test out. As always, all opinions are completely my own. The Unicorn Lip Gloss is quirky and fun, but there are some down-sides to the product as well. I’m going to be completely honest.

Tell me this isn’t an adorable concept, and you’d be lying. The glittery tubes come in five different colors and sleek, minimalist packaging. Whether you’re looking to give these to a friend for a laugh or just want them sitting on your makeup table, these are perfect.

When it comes to the actual product, it’s not exactly the most ground-breaking gloss in the world. You probably won’t see it sitting on a beauty store shelf next to some of the higher-end products, but it is a good product if you’re looking for glitter and shine. Especially for a cool $8 each.

This isn’t your typical subtle shimmer gloss, either. There are actual glitter particles in the colored goo. I was afraid that these would feel gritty on my lips, but it was actually really comfortable! You can’t feel the glitter at all when it’s on your lips. They are pretty sticky though, so you’ll have to keep applying throughout the day.

The one thing that I didn’t like was the smell. The website said it smelled like cotton candy, but it was a bit off to me. Also, the color doesn’t show up on your lips. So don’t purchase this thinking that you’ll have colorful lips. The color is vaguely visible in the glitter though. Here’s a close-up shot to see what I mean.

You won’t see me wearing these on a day-to-day basis, but I will be keeping them on my shelf just in case the right time comes to wear some glitter. They’re too adorable not to! The glitter will be sitting right next to them too. Let me know if you’d like to see the different ways I wear the Unicorn Snot Body Glitter, because I’ve been having a lot of fun with it lately,

When I wore this throughout the day, no one seemed to be too freaked out by the glitter. So I would say that it is wearable. I did get some weird stares when I pulled it out of my purse to apply it while I was out. I’m guessing that was mainly for the name. Or maybe it was because a grown, 24-year-old woman was putting on sparkly lip gloss. Either way, I’m okay with it.

What do you think? Would you try out Unicorn Snot? I’d love to hear what you think of the gloss or even the unicorn trend in general below. And if you have any other weird product recommendations, let me know! I’ve really been loving stepping out of my comfort zone lately.

xx.

I’m a little obsessed with the unicorn trend. Just a little.

They look so pretty! I probably wouldn’t buy them on my own for $8 since there are better products more moisturizing, but I’d love it as a gift lol. Even if I didn’t really use it the tube would be cute sitting somewhere on a desk
